Let me be honest, in my heart I want nothing more than to find someone to love, commit myself to, and be with until the day I die.I am posting in hopes of finding someone who feels the same and is interested in exploring each other for the purpose of a relationship. I am an old soul, faithful, loving, caring, romantic, kind, honest, and a giving man.I am recently widowed, my partner of over 11 years passing away from cancer. We had a loving, caring, intimate and monogamous relationship. We were married by a hospital chaplain two days before he passed. When he knew the time was near, he told me two things: Don't cry when he is gone (sure blew that one), and don't be alone, so I am putting myself out there.In the 11+ years we were together I learned many things. I learned that a relationship is a risk. I also learned that a monogamous relationship takes work, but is truly worth it. You don't need to be on many dates to know if someone is right for you, because you are going to spend the rest of your life getting to know him. People think they will figure life out before they settle down, but that's just not going to happen.I am not looking for someone to replace this man. But I know there is another man out there who can walk my life's path with me.Love is seeing past flaws. We all have flaws and imperfections. From what I see, not too many people can see past flaws with all the lists of things for someone to be able to contact them.Love also sees no wrong. There were times he made a bad decision, but I always defended him. There were times when I was wrong, and I admitted it. We kept our personal life just that: personal.I want to meet someone who will give me the time to get to know him to see if he is the one. I thought at one point that love at first sight happens, and it can sometimes. But I've learned a lot about people and what love really is over the past couple of years. Love means giving up things you need for someone else. Love means doing what's best for both of you, being a team in all matters. Love means there might be 500 reasons to leave, but just one reason to stay. Love means you can't imagine your life without someone.Maybe you're just like me, you desire that one person who will cherish you for the rest of your life. Do you think about that guy who will hold you throughout the night, waking up to make sure you are pressed up against him? Caress you lovingly, and hold your hand, and make you wonder where he has been your entire life. He would touch you in ways that make you feel alive and show you how much you are wanted and needed.He would help when you need him and show you everyday he is worthy and deserving of you. I am that guy. I dream about doing all of those things for someone.All I ask is that you be disease free, as I am, do not use any drugs (including cigarettes), be somewhere in your mid 50s to early 80s, and willing to relocate (this is negotiable) eventually if needed if we decide to pursue something.Be serious about wanting to get to know me. I don't want to waste anyone's time, nor have my time wasted. I prefer to talk via email first. I want someone who will maintain communication with me. Yes, we all get busy, but I don't want someone I have to chase in order to talk to them.If you are seriously interested in getting to know me, the real person, please approach me like you are, not like this is a hookup.
