I possess a great affinity for involvement and communication with others either directly or through shared interests. I'm conversational and enjoy nonjudgmental sharing. Others say I’m authentic, genuine, educated (MS), caring, sensitive, flexible, playful, witty, aware, masculine, and creative. I'm now retired and politically & spiritually progressive – characteristics to which I aspire. My physical traits are 210#, HWP, trim beard, salt & pepper hair, balding, in good health, HIV-, mid-70's, and average looking (a few have said I’m good looking, but I’m not the judge!). Others tell me I look notably younger than my chronological age.

My interests and tastes are eclectic in the arts, food, furniture, recreation, entertainment, etc. I enjoy theater, movies, DH & XC skiing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, mountains, beach, museums, travel, camping, road trips, healthy living/food, ethnic restaurants, meaningful discussion/sharing. family, friends and much more. Although I even have eclectic tastes in men (LOL), I'd rather have connection/friendship and maybe true romance someday.

Why are my interests important to me? There are a variety of reasons that focus on fulfillment. Nature inspires and is a fantastic setting for recreation such as canoeing, kayaking, hiking, camping, XC and DH skiing, travel and even just walking. The "Arts" – performing, visual and experiential - connect to human culture, expression and creativity. In terms of politics and spirituality, I find/seek the connectedness to the fullness of the human spirit and that "something that is outside of myself and all living things" where there is freedom and peace… in these arenas, I’m paradoxically both progressive and traditional. One might not guess that I’m active in my mainline Protestant church or that I’m gay.

I’m seeking male friends with complementary traits and values for friendship and who share some common interests with a youthful flair, but certainly not a mirror of me. I’m not prone to “playing around,” truly looking for friends, and hopefully more if that "special one" comes along for a monogamous LTR. Although I'm willing to initially communicate via email and phone, I prefer to meet face-to-face (if initial communications are promising) so that our persona's may interact. Such meeting could start with coffee, a restaurant meal, a movie or play, a hike, a ski or canoe/kayak date or even just a walk.
